Kicking off the 135-day season here at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

In its 13th year, the Dick’s Ditch Classic Banked Slalom event has become a staple of each year here in Jackson. When registration is full days before the event that must mean something. Pretty much if you were slacking trying to sign up the day before inspection, it was too late. See you next year.
I usually help build the course but this year i was traveling. The course was from the top of Dick’s Ditch to the South Pass Traverse.

Come gather with local snowboarders for a session style contest in Jackson Hole’s new Stash Parks to hang, ride, and reward each other’s natural abilities.
The Stash Gathering will take place in three Stash Parks. The Grom category (12 & under) will session the L’il Stash on Teewinot. Other categories will session the Campground Stash to qualify for the Deer Flat Stash final.
Categories are as follows:
* Groms 12 & under (includes boys and girls combined)
* 13-15 year-olds (includes boys and girls combined)
* Open Men (ages 16+)
* Open Women (ages 16+)
Schedule:
8-9:30am – Bib pick-up/registration in the Gabe Room
9:30-10am – Grom Session in Teewinot Stash Park
11-11:45am – Qualifying Session at Campground Stash
1-2pm – Final Session at Deer Flat Stash
3:30pm – Awards at Nick WIlson’s

In an unprecedented move Jackson Hole Mountain Resort announces the wall to wall, top to bottom opening of the mountain, this Saturday the 27th of November. Never before in the recorded history of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) has so much snow fallen so early with totals snowfall tipping the 118” mark. We are calling it Snowvember, to be followed by Deepcember. As one of the biggest storms in recent history continues to rage in Teton Village, the mountain is preparing to open all lifts including the Aerial Tram and the Gondola. This will be accompanied by the opening of all major runs including the Hobacks and Lower Faces. Jerry Blann, JHMR President adds “This is the beginning of a season without equal in Jackson Hole history. We anticipate being able to open the entire mountain in November—this has never been seen before.”
While it is certain that there will be enough snow to open the entire mountain, the intensity of the storm will need to subside in order to make the complete opening possible.
