I am different people according to the seasons. Summer not my best, but one I’m learning to adapt. Born in Baltimore, in May 1974 just before humidity set in like frost and covers skin like skin. A writer at first then an artist. I’ve been painting glass for nine years in a serendipitous turn, a happy accident; a friend happened to be throwing away a print in a large glass frame. I knew instantly I wanted it. Unlikely turns, misinterpreted words, objects collected on the way, the process revealing itself, an entrance. Fall is a release. And September comes with a B.A. in English and later an MFA in Writing & the Publishing Arts. A student most of my life then on the other side of the desk, a teacher. Learning, reading, traveling; deserts of New Mexico to start, eventually my mind and body in a perfect northern arrow, like a compass reading, I moved up the interstate to Colorado, Wyoming and now furthest Idaho in search of snow.
